New users can instantly sign up using their Apple or Google accounts. However, existing users must ensure that their registered email address on Twitter resembles their Apple ID/Google account.
Twitter’s New Functionality Looks?
Twitter Support announced the new functionality via a tweet. It specifies that Twitter users can immediately use their Apple or Google accounts to log in or sign up for the microblogging platform. The latter works on both the app and the web, whereas Apple ID is only available on iOS devices. Twitter says that Apple account login functionality will be available soon for the Web version, although there is no information it will be open for Android users.
Eliminating The Need for Email Address?
The Google account login feature will be available on Android, iOS, and desktop apps, as well as the Web browser. The registration process is simple by eliminating entering an email address, password, name, and user handle. Twitter will automatically suggest user handle options to a new user. New users only need to select their languages and sync their smartphone contacts to find and connect with existing users on the platform.
According to Twitter’s assistance page, users can disconnect their Apple or Google accounts, exclusively available to Web users.
