Apple September 14 Highlights

Apple’s new phones reveal exciting new iPad mini updates. Here’s a rundown of everything that announces.

After weeks of speculation about what updates the new line-up would bring, Apple unveiled the new family of smartphones, along with the Apple Watch 7, iPad, and iPad mini, at the California Streaming event on September 14th.

Apple unveiled four new handsets, similar to last year’s reveal: the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

While the design modifications were eventually minor, the 13 series phones feature a smaller notch, a super-fast A15 Bionic chip, and impressive new cameras.

Here’s a rundown of everything Apple announced during the September virtual event.

Highlights from Apple’s event: Products announced at the ‘California Streaming’ event

The iPad (9th generation)

Apple formally revealed its 9th generation iPad.

The entry-level tablet features a 10.2-inch retina display and an A13 Bionic chipset, which Apple claims are up to 20% faster than its predecessor.

The front camera has a 122-degree field of view and a 12 megapixel (MP) ultra-wide lens.

The new entry-level tablet is compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil as well as the Smart keyboard accessory. True Tone, a feature that adjusts screen content to the brightness of the surroundings, has also been added.

Mini iPad (6th generation)

The iPad mini will get an update this year, which Apple describes as the model’s considerable upgrade ever.” It now has a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness, and the touch ID fingerprint system on the top right of the body, just like the modern iPad Air.

The tablet is small and portable, but it also houses a powerful A15 Bionic chip, which has resulted in an 80 percent increase in graphics performance over the previous iteration. It also has 5G connectivity, supported by the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera, and comes in different colors.

 Apple Watch 7 Series

The new smartwatch Apple Watch 7 has an always-on display with nearly 20% more screen and 40% thinner borders.

The unique design has more flexible but more rounded corners than earlier models, and it now has an 18-hour battery life and charges 33% faster than the Series 6.

Apple’s iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini include Apple’s new A15 Bionic chip and a dual-camera system with diagonally positioned lenses.

The camera setup now includes sensor-shift image stabilization by the iPhone 12 Pro Max, a new “cinematic mode” that allows changing the focus on the live recording.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini retain the earlier model’s flat edge design with a Super Retina display. The new iPhones will support the 5G standard.

iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have both received a slew of improvements, including a redesigned front that reduces the size of the selfie camera notch system by 20% compared to previous Pro models. Apple claims that its flagship phones have been remodeled, with an A15 Bionic chipset offering up to 50% faster graphics performance than the leading competition.

The new Super Retina XDR display has a peak outdoor brightness of up to 1000 nits, and the two phones have ProMotion variable refresh rates that range from 10Hz to 120Hz on the required performance. They are water-resistant.

The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max feature a triple camera setup. The phones have a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a wide-angle lens, and an ultrawide lens for the first time on an iPhone.

The battery life has refined, with the 13 Pro lasting 1.5 hours longer than the 12 Pro and the 13 Pro Max lasting 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Pro models include a 1TB storage option.

iPad (9th generation), iPad mini(6th generation), iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 mini, as well as the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, is available from September 24th. Apple Watch 7 is available in autumn.
